Primitives

Dex gives you a small set of primitives. Compose them into a Flow that meets any complex business requirement.

  • Flow — top-level durable program: Steps, Attributes, Channels, and RPCs
  • Step — durable Steps run in the background with retries and more power
  • Attribute — durable variables, with optional indexing, storage sync, and locking
  • RPC — durable communication (Remote Procedure Call)
  • Channel — durable message queue for internal and external communication
  • Stream — best-effort resumable feed for low-latency UI updates
  • Timer — durable timer
  • SubFlow — start another Flow with hierarchical structure
  • Client — APIs to operate Flow instances
